About the Bali Catspace
The Catspace is the model Bali built to answer one question: how much living space can you get into the smallest catamaran people actually want to charter. The name is not subtle and neither is the boat.
It carries the two Bali signatures — a solid foredeck instead of trampolines, and an aft bulkhead that lifts like a garage door to merge saloon and cockpit — and arranges everything else around volume. The result is a boat that feels a size larger than it is the moment you step aboard, and sails like a boat that was designed around that priority.
For a charter crew that is often the right trade. You spend most of the week at anchor or alongside, not beating to windward, and what you remember is whether there was somewhere comfortable to sit at six in the evening.
Who it suits
- Crews who want maximum space for the money
- This is the point of the boat. Volume per charter euro is the metric it was designed to win.
- Families who will be aboard rather than ashore
- Solid foredeck, open-plan saloon and cockpit, and a layout that assumes you will live on the boat rather than use it as transport.
- First-time multihull crews
- Stable, straightforward and small enough to berth without needing a plan the night before.
- Less suited to crews who want to sail hard
- Everything about this boat was optimised for space rather than speed, and it is honest about it.
Layout & life aboard
- Volume is the design brief
- The saloon, galley and cabins are all larger than the boat's length would normally allow.
- Lifting aft bulkhead
- The saloon opens fully onto the cockpit, which on a boat this size roughly doubles the usable living area.
- Solid foredeck
- Walkable and sunbathable, with a forward seating area instead of netting.
- Galley on the main level
- Proper worktop and a large fridge in the saloon rather than buried in a hull.
Under sail
- Built for comfort, not passages
- The volume comes with weight and windage, and the sailing reflects that honestly.
- Reaching
- Fine — level, steady, undemanding. The angle to plan your week around.
- Upwind
- Limited. In a head sea the boat slows a lot; most crews motor-sail rather than persist.
- Choose the direction of your first day with the forecast in front of you.
- Under power
- Twin engines, compact hull, very easy to manoeuvre for a catamaran.
Worth knowing before you book
- Route planning matters more than usual
- A boat optimised for volume punishes a badly chosen upwind leg. Plan downwind or reaching days where you can.
- Test the lifting bulkhead
- It is the feature the whole layout depends on. Open and close it fully before you leave.
- Foredeck shade
- Excellent space in the morning, unusable at midday unless a cover is fitted. Ask.
- Stowage against cabin count
- The volume went into living space. Lockers are sized accordingly, so pack in soft bags.

Frequently asked questions
For bareboat charter the skipper on board needs a recognised sailing license and, in most countries, a VHF certificate. If nobody in your group is licensed, book the yacht with a professional skipper.
Charter weeks normally run Saturday to Saturday, with check-in in the afternoon and check-out in the morning at the home base (Le Marin).
Cross-border sailing is often possible with prior notice and additional paperwork. Ask us before booking so the operator can prepare the documents.
Fuel is normally paid on a tank-to-tank basis: you receive the yacht with a full tank and return it full.
